The wireless spectrum is getting so crowded (from the ever-growing licensed mobile internet 4G LTE to the amazing unlicensed spectrum use in the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands by everyone in WiFi communications) that it is impacting the reliable use of wireless applications in many industries, whom have been benefiting from the innovation, efficiency, and increased productivity.

While new technology is being researched to come up with new protection methods from interference (such as spectrum-sharing, spectrum sensing, geo-location databases, etc.), the present challenge and decision to make in wireless applications /solutions is “to License or not to License?”

This webinar will discuss the pros and cons of licensed and unlicensed frequencies, and the technical considerations in deciding which one is the best for the case at hand.  Real world application examples of each providing secure, long distance, reliable radio links for industrial data applications will also be shared.

    • Frequency selection
    • Standards
    • How to choose the appropriate radio for your application
    • When Cellular is an option
    • Pros and cons of various radio types
