    Q&A with Aubri Hanson
    This month's Q&A is with Aubri Hanson, a professor at Gulf Coast State College. A resident of Alabama, Ms. Hanson holds several ISA positions, including Program Chair of ISA's 60th International Instrumentation Symposium (IIS), ISA Scholarship Programs Committee Member, and Division Symposia Task Force Committee Member.

    Council of Society Delegates approves motions to change ISA Governance Structure
    At the Fall Leaders Meeting in Nashville, Tennessee, USA, ISA's Council of Society Delegates approved six of the seven motions-two with amendments-to change the governance structure of the Society in accordance with the final report of the Governance Structure Task Force.

    By action of the ISA Council of Society Delegates on 4 November 2013, the following slate of nominees presented by the Society Nominating Committee was elected. All will take office on 1 January 2014.

    2013 ISA Standards & Practices Department Awards Winners
    Each year, the ISA Standards & Practices Department recognizes significant contributions by standards committee members toward achieving major milestones, which typically include the development, approval, or publication of an ISA standard, recommended practice, or technical report. Six winners for 2013 were recently announced.

    Globalization of the ISA100 Wireless Standard
    As 2013 comes to a close, the ISA100 Wireless™ standard (ISA-100.11a-2011) took a significant step toward internationalization. ISA-100.11a-2011-Wireless Systems for Industrial Automation: Process Control and Related Applications, has received approval from all 21 participating National Committees of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) that voted on the IEC 62734 version in a recently completed Committee Draft for Vote (CDV) stage.

    ISA is accepting applications for its 2014 educational scholarships
    ISA recently announced that it is accepting applications for its wide range of 2014 educational scholarships, which will be awarded to college and university students who demonstrate outstanding potential for long-range contributions in the fields of automation, instrumentation, and control.
